On Wednesday, Nov. 18, For Members Only (FMO), Northwestern’s Black Student Alliance, held its State of the Black Union. The annual event seeks to bring a speaker with relevant insight on Black life in America.
This year, FMO made history by bringing two speakers. Mara Brock Akil and Amy DuBois Barnett came and spoke on Blackness in the media to a crowd of over 100 eager listeners.
The Q&A portion of the event was co-sponsored by NABJ- Northwestern and the moderating was led by our very own president, Sierra Boone. We hope you enjoy these photos from the event.
More photos to come soon.
